As the world's largest selling show dedicated to a single medium, New York's International Fine Print Dealers Association Print Fair has always been a standout. These days most fairs are struggling to fill their exhibitor rosters, but not IFPDA: the 2009 edition (November 5-8) features 84 chosen from among the association's membership of galleries, private dealers, and print publishers. (Previous editions have involved 87-90 of them.)
On view is an enormous range of prints, from Old Master to barely dry, from $1,000 to the high six-figures. The fair is the centerpiece of New York Fine Print Week, which features thematic exhibitions, gallery talks, and openings all over town.
